Birmingham/Stockholm Exchange

We recently returned from Stockholm after a very successful exchange between Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music (KMH) in Stockholm. My piece Stabat Mater was a great success and was performed wonderfully by Hannah Davey, Jack McNeill, Paul Norman and Sebastiano Dessanay. It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to work with such sensitive and talented musicians. The exchange also afforded me the opportunity to meet some great people in Stockholm including Karin Rehnqvist, Bill Brunson, Per Egland and Ilari Hongisto. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday! Composing is often a solitary experience and these kind of exchanges are a welcomed opportunity to meet other like minded eremites…
